Computer Geek for a Day

Yesterday, I spent the day at work being a computer geek. Not the kind of geek like with software and settings and whatnot, but actual computer hardware. I soldered micro modem chips on 50 circuit boards for the energy monitor that we manufacture. Our electronic/computer engineer is in China right now, and we ran out of merchandise to sell aside from the 50 units that were chipless. So, Jess to the rescue! We now have plenty of monitors to sell, and I have a huge sense of accomplishment. I taught myself how to do it, and I did it perfectly! All the units work and are ready to be sent to all the corners of the country.

I didn't get home until 7:45 at night though, so I'm a little wiped out. Just thought I'd fill you in on the job. I'm still liking it, I'm good at it, my coworkers are great, and my boss is very happy with me. All is well aside from exhaustion, but it's worth it when compared to my last job.

Oh yeah, and I must tell you how excited I am for this weekend: Clark and I are going to the Pumpkintown Festival this weekend (it's exactly what it sounds like)! And not only that, but my best friend Bonnie and her hubby Joe from up north will be meeting us there to play! Yayyyy! I'll tell you more later, but I'm just really really excited already!
