Goodbye Misty

If you have followed my blog for a while, you may remember my post about three months ago asking you to pray for Misty LeBlanc. If you are new to the blog and happen to be observant, you may have noticed the "Pray for Misty" banner in the right-hand column. It's taken me some time to post about this, because I am oddly upset by the loss of a total stranger.

On September 23rd, Misty LeBlanc died while in a coma. Please read her husband Darren's post here. I don't know what to say really, other than I truly believed that God was going to heal her from her cancer. Not "heal" as in curing her by removing her suffering by death, but really, actually healing her while she was alive on this earth. I prayed diligently for her, I thought about her many times everyday, and I checked the website all the time in hopes of an update or great news of a miracle. I am really sad that she is gone. I miss her even though I never knew her personally. She was my sister in Christ, and she believed in our faithful God with all of her heart even while suffering great pain. It's been over a week and I still feel a little bit like crying when I remember that she's no longer with us. I have not lost any faith whatsoever in the goodness of God, and His perfect will is many times difficult for us to understand. Many things don't seem "right" in our eyes, but even my limited view can tell that thousands upon thousands of people have been touched by her and her family's story, and that many have been moved by her strong faith despite her physical weakness.

Her husband, Darren, is mourning her loss and struggling with questions as I'm sure many people are. However, he is still a strong and faithful servant of God, and has a peace about everything that has happened. I would urge you to continue reading or start reading his blog now titled "In Loving Memory of Misty LeBlanc". I would also encourage you to support his Anthem of Hope project with either donations or prayer. I believe in the goodness of this project and I know many people will benefit from it.

Jess- I am very sad about this too, I first found out about Misty from another blog. I am praying for her family, friends and "friends" who are mourning her loss. I have no doubt that her husband will carry on her greatness...I also think what he's doing is amazing!

Thinking of you beautiful girl!
