Defrosting from the Mountains

We just got back from a wonderful weekend in the mountains. We arrived there at 7:00 on Friday night, ate a scrumptious meal at ye olde Cracker Barrel, and continued our good conversations and funny stories back at the house until bedtime.

While Clark played golf at a [very, very nice] course all day, I got to spend the day shopping with my mother-in-law Mary and our family friend Bonnie. After we all got back from our day's excursions, Clark's parents took us out to a very nice dinner at a lodge (famous for its steak....which I did not eat). We came back and played Catch Phrase and Bible Trivia until bedtime.

Most of this weekend's trip was a repeat of last year's trip, and I hope this fall trip to the mountains becomes a tradition. It's real quality time with the family and I always enjoy the experience. I wouldn't have minded if it were 10 (or 20...or 40) degrees warmer, though, because I froze my booty off. No, it wasn't as cold as up north, but I was cold up there, too. It was between 40-50 degrees during the days and dropped below freezing at night. I did get a lot of knitting done, and now I only have about a foot to go on Jen's scarf!

Here's a group shot of all of us. From left to right, it's Tim (Clark's dad/my father-in-law), Mary (Clark's mom/my mother-in-law), Clark, yours truly, Jenna (Clark's little sister/my sister-in-law), Bonnie (family friend), and her husband Earl (family friend).

I'll post next tomorrow night instead of in the morning, and then I'll be back to my regular scheduled programming. :) Ta-ta!
