Russell and Katherine: Engagement Session

It's about time, right?! I'm very, very excited to present you with my first ever engagement photo session (all by myself!) I took these pictures about 3 weeks ago, edited them within 1 week, and delivered them a few days after that. The ones posted here are my favorites of the bunch!

Katherine and Russell are a wonderful couple, and they really made me feel comfortable during the photo shoot in downtown Charleston. They are friends of mine from my church, and even though it's the photographer who's supposed to make the clients feel at ease, I was definitely more nervous than they were! They were just happy and in love, and they just can't wait to be married! They made for awesome material for me :)

So, enough chit-chat... here are the pictures!

We were able to get the first swing on the pier!

Had to get one with Charleston's famous Rainbow Row.

And yes, we really did find a two-seater bike! How awesome is that?!

I learned so much on this shoot, and I'm so grateful for the experience. I learned a lot about lighting, how to work with and around your environment, and how to compensate for two people who differ by almost 2 feet in height! I definitely have some good ideas for my next shoot, whenever that happens to be. My friends seemed to really enjoy their pictures, and have enjoyed showing them off to friends and family. The feedback so far has been really encouraging, and even though I have a long way to go, this was definitely the boost in confidence I needed.

Katherine and Russell, thank you so much for helping me with everything, and for being such good sports for a clueless photographer! You are a wonderful couple and I can't wait to be at your wedding in less than two weeks! Your whirlwind two-month engagement has been such a strong testimony of your love and commitment... you love each other, why wait to make it official?? Your Kentucky wedding will be beautiful and your marriage will be an adventure! May God bless your journey together!
