This little girl.....
She likes to play with my stress buttons a little bit. Like how it's normal to start feeling definitive movements from the baby between 18 - 22 weeks. Well, I hadn't felt anything at all, and here I am at 22 weeks today. I was trying not to worry about it, but this was just one of those things that I wanted to make sure was happening. If I didn't feel anything today, I was going to call my doctor tomorrow just to make sure it was ok if I was out of the "normal" range.
Well, she gave me quite a performance today! Undoubtedly, it was Lily Mae - kicking and punching and moving around in every which way - what a relief! Now while I will gladly accept more and more of this dancing around, I have to say..... this is W.E.I.R.D. It really does feel like a real, live person moving in there. I never knew what to expect, I mean, how could I? How can anyone understand the unique feelings that come with growing a human being until they actually experience it?
Well I'm glad about this. And relieved. And happy. And excited. But I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it... she's been going at it all day and I have to keep telling myself that it feels different because it's not just air bubbles. It's a baby. Cool!
In other updates, I've been working on a bunch of stuff for Lily Mae and her room, and we took two weekend trips - one to Myrtle Beach and another to Maryland. Now, you regular readers already know that I've got quite a backlog of posts I've been intending to share with you, so I'm not going to add to that list now by saying I'll tell you about my trips later. So here's the mega-quick rundown for you:
Myrtle Beach: just me and Clark; his parents' condo; tied in putt-putt; ate good food; shopped at outlets and got outfits for Lily Mae; weather was 10 degrees warmer than forecasted; had fun; good trip.
Maryland: me, Clark, and Rocky; long, long drive there (harder on my back than expected); my parents' house; breakfast, dinner, and shopping for Lily Mae with mom and dad; afternoon arts & crafts projects with Bonnie; triple date dinner with Bonnie & Joe and Erica & Josh; incredible weather (clear skies and upper 70's); parents gifted us with a stroller/travel system; had lots of fun visiting; long, long drive home.
Sorry for the terrible quality, but here we are (Erica on the left, Bonnie on the right) after our dinner date.
And of course, here's the obligatory belly shot! Growing by leaps and bounds, we are!
I really can't wait to share with you guys my plans for her room. I'm really excited about what's coming....but this is one of those things that will have to wait for another post. Soon, though! Thanks for checking in!
