This morning, Clark said he would watch Lily Mae for the two hours before she needed to eat again. (I know, he's totally awesome!) "You can do whatever you want," he said. Whatever I want? Whoa. Well I knew of course that there would be a nap involved. I had watched McKayden every day this week and was busy every night... I was pretty tired. But I also wanted to shower, because I don't remember the last time I took an unrushed, guiltless shower. So since I had already eaten breakfast (a toasted english muffin with pumpkin butter, yum!), I planned for an hour of sleep, an hour of shower/get ready time.
10:00 to 12:00 was my slot.
When my alarm went off at 11:00 for my shower, I knew that just wasn't going to happen. I reset the alarm for 11:15, thinking a quick shower would still be good. *beep beep* 11:30... I'll just take a really, really fast shower. *beep beep* 12:00, Lily Mae needs to eat. Guess I'm not going to shower. Oh well.
When I came out to the living room still a stinky mess, I realized that with mommyhood comes new life rules. Rock, paper, scissors rules.
Sleep beats showers. There comes a point - a really gross point - where showers beat food. But if I'm hungry, food totally beats sleep. So...wanna play 'Sleep, Eat, Shower' with me?
ps - I posted this from my phone. I found a decent blogging app, but can't post pictures. blahhhh
